Jazz Rooms IV – RIP

Description

Russ Dewbury’s “Jazz Rooms” in Brighton ran for more than two decades. Described by Straight No Chaser magazine as “the longest running night on planet earth”, the club was a haven for fans of rare funk, afro-beat, dance-floor jazz, latin/brazilian music and the best new underground tunes from around the globe. Those on the decks included Gilles Peterson, Kevin Beadle, Rainer Truby, Russ himself, and Ricardo Severe, four of whose mixes are featured here – all based on sets he played with Russ at the Jazz Rooms.
