Wikked. cheers for the link. not some of Yoda’s best stuff, but its always nice to hear some of his newer stuff. i really got addicted to his first essential mix (Unthugged), then again the 2006 essential mix….i never fully appreciated the early stuff incl how to mix&paste1,2&80’s edtn, as it wasnt as raw as the EM’s. But i do however like his newest album, which is well worth the hard-earned cash if you can find it in any cd-selling establishment.
Keep up the good work Yoda, and everyone else who uses this site and for Jon for hosting it!

I remove Dj Yoda - Fabric Live 39 Mix.. by polyp, April 19, 2008 01:57

Fabric

Because it is the same one that this mix.. :)

Quote from Amy Riley (trashmenagerie.com)

DJ Yoda, British turntablist with a penchant for mashing up the musical genres on his hugely famous mixtapes (How to Cut & Paste Mix Tape Vol.1, The Amazing Adventures of DJ Yoda ), has turned his hand to the FabricLive series.

DJ Yoda says:

This mix is unique for me. After all these years and all the mixes I’ve done, this is the first mix that’s actually representative of what I do in a club. As much as the ‘How To Cut & Paste’ mixes represent my style, the fabric mix is the first time you’ll hear what I sound like in a club, as opposed to me sitting at home in my bedroom fiddling around with tiny pieces of music. It’s music you can dance to.

Yoda’s FabricLive mix includes lots of nice hiphop, drum n bass and grime, but isn’t afraid to tackle Violent Femmes, The Coral and MInnie Riperton’s oh-so-sweet “Lovin’ You”. I’m definitely getting a piece of this action because he’s chucked in some of my all-time old school faves, Salt-N-Pepa’s “Push It” and Bell Biv DeVoe’s “Poison”.

FabricLive 39 hits the UK shelves on 14 April, (FabricFirst members get a crack on 7 April), but US fans will have to wait ’til 13 May.

In the meantime, the lovely folks at Fabric have sent us Yoda’s FabricLive.39 Radio Mix to whet our appetites. Pretty cool eh? Different songs, same amazing dj.
