Tito Puente featuring Maynard Ferguson :: Special Delivery

Description

Maynard Ferguson is credited with being able to hit notes on a trumpet that were supposed to be humanly impossible, he dedicated his entire life to jazz and music, touring the world until he died a few years ago…a friend at work introduced me to Maynard when chance had me buzz through his office during the jazz hour on the radio and he was uber excited to hear just one of his songs.

Jazz has always been a genre that I consume by solid referrals so that night I hit soulseek and found his name on a Tito Puente album, godfather of Latin Jazz? Makes sense considering they both live and breathe music.

Maynard’s trumpet is everywhere, dancing in and out along with several other artists that all jam with Tito to make this album so good. Lots of drums from a master and expect trumpet sounds like you never heard before, but its copyrighted, so its up to Jon whether or not this link will remain posted here.

Maynard wouldn’t care even alive and shared his music to everyone, but who the hell knows, these days are different, greed is a vicious disease and the music industry is ruthless when it comes to money. Living in Canada things are different, nobody cares about us and we like it that way.

if it does go down i will post it on my blog. ;)
