On October 6th, ‘San Franciscan weirdo’ DJ Shadow (John Peel’s words) featured on Mary Anne Hobbs’ show on BBC Radio 1 with a hit-list of his top 10 influential tracks. Delivered in no significant order, for the most part, the selections don’t stray too far from the hip hop stable; but the additional explanations from Shadow himself add an interesting touch, as he walks through fond memories of experiencing the tracks for the first time, and in what context they apply to his creative thinking over the years.
