DJ Vadim and DJ Woody :: Lettuce Propelled Rockets
Description
Awesome scratching, mixing and cuts, as usual.
Recorded & mixed at the timber yard, London, 2004. Out of print release.
Here’s some control-c from people that like to type more than me:
The mixtape game has lept several skyscrapers in the last couple of years as you know only to well. Now joining the elite are the russian percussion Vadim and Burnley’s finest world beatin’ scratch master DJ Woody! ‘Lettuce Propelled Rockets’ ranks alongside all the other jaw dropping mixtape CD’s we’ve been pimping to y’all recently especially ‘Three Sinister Sylabbles’ and Woody’s own (now sadly out of print) ‘Bangers & Mash’. This mix lets you dip into Vadim’s insane rare record collection and of course shows off Woody’s pioneering scratch techniques – all this to be brought even closer to us later in 2005 with their supergroup collective ‘One Self’. ‘LPR’ is a crazy pot pouri of future Vadim (exclusive here for now), crazed psych funk rock like the immense & nuff rare ‘Chains and Black Exhaust’ comp, electric lounge jazz, eastern percussive freak outs and any and all points in between. Nuff comedic seventies adverts drop including personal health instructionals and even the ad that launched diet seven up on the world. This mix has been in the works for time and it shows – one second short of eighty minutes, with the quality factor set this high that’s serious bang for your buck if you ask me. Mix cd of the year so far, someone’s going to have to get pretty sick to beat this! Utterly essential.
