Vinroc :: Vinroc Recon-struction mix
Description
DJ Neil Armstrong, Vinroc’s crewmate, cites Recon-Struction as his favorite mix tape of all-time. Released in 1997, it’s a perfect mix of great early to mid-nineties hip-hop, flipped with a turntablist aesthetic. Vinroc’s presentation of this era is a unique one as each track represents a mix of a specific group. He crams in three to five minutes of dopeness from each group and then moves on to the next. Vin successfully rides the fine line of displaying his skills as a DJ without going over board throughout. He flexes enough cuts and juggles to make Recon-Struction unique while simultaneously letting songs play uninterrupted when appropriate. The result is one of the purest hip-hop mix tapes I’ve ever heard.

First I want to say that this mix is one of my favourites of the hip hop mixtapes I have listened to till now.I like the way the tracks are mixed, the scratches, the technics, etc. If anybody knows the track (Recon-struction Disc 2 – Igotchaprops – starts at 5:42 and ends at 7:48) its something of Boot Camp Click but I don´t know the name of the song. If anybody can help me….Pleeease!!!!! Thanx

oops i double posted, damn cold is messing with me I tell ya……um yeah that’s what it is it’s on the 1995 album Da Shinin’, along with their other popular track Wreckonize which you may or may not remember.
Anyway, hope that solves your problem, if you have any other hip hop tracks you want identified let me know, I’m fairly good at id’ing, been in the game long enough, should be =).

Wow, talk about taking me back. I’m almost 35 and this is the stuff I was listening to after several years of listening to hiphop. But I think some of these tracks stretch back to the late 80’s as well. Very well put, Pure hip-hop mixtape.
I like the 2nd CD, Tribe called Quest to 3rd Bass to Black Sheep’s flava of tha month.
I heard ya got the feva for the flava….
xcellent post

Cheers buddy, classic mixtape I’ve got part 2 as well, I will post a link for that later this week, also I’ve noticed that it might be unpacking incorrectly for some, I apologise for that but that’s out of my control, here’s another link with other file sharing services to dl it:
http://sharebee.com/9490602b, if that doesn’t work, let me know and I will post my version of the mix myself….cheers and happy listening!
P.S. I’ve been under the weather this week, got a damn cold, so I will try and reply and update/post new mix links this week, probably Friday my time, so if you can all be patient with me, I will eventually get around to sharing the wealth.
Regards, Andy, the “bzrwon”
