Where to find mixes?

Need some guidance folks…
I have some time on my hands at the moment(finished eating all the pies),and would like to contribute more to the site.
Where are good places to hunt down mixes for the site?

there are lots of blogs out there that will post up mixes. essential elements.blogspot.com is one. themixingbowl.org (a torrent site) is one of the top mix sites out there along with pearsontowers.

I used to find some interesting stuff by browsing MySpace. Starting with a DJ I know I like who’s posted stuff to his page and checking out promisingly named friends of his. Pretty hit and miss but I found loads of artists I’d never heard of but liked when I checked out their music player. There’s a lot of gems hidden in there. Mixes to DL will generally be in the blog section.
Always worth following up the credit links on here too.

Try dogsonacid.com, dubstepforum.com (try the ‘other music’ and hip-hop’ sections as well as the main ‘mixes’ forum), livesets.com., and try putting the name of a mix you want into goggle, but put the word ‘blog’ or ‘rapidshare’ before it – can be hit and miss, but I’ve found loads of wicked blogs that way.

Finally, I’ve got some reggae and dubstep mixes on a new blog that I’ve started…….feel free to check it out……the links at the side will lead you to some good blogs too;

i like Blentwell.com, although it’s more about new mixes than it is classics and rarities like this site.

Newmixes.com has a lot of recent Essential Mixes, and tons of trance and house if that’s your thing.

I also go to maddecent.com often – that’s Diplo’s record label site, and there’s always interesting new mixes and tracks there, both by Maddecent artists and also others that Diplo digs.

My own blog, djcatnap.com has a small but excellent collection of mixes, all hosted on the site for easy downloading,too.

Of course I have just had a job offer so back into the wild for 6 months.
Atleast I now have the knowledge for when i am home.

Find a mix on here you like and Google it to see if anywhere else gives it a mention. There’s thousands of bloggers that do all the hard work of tracking down links to decent mixes so you should stumble over a blog or two that will catch your eye.

ninjamixdump on twitter is another good source. Piles of stuff listed there. Haven’t yet found any other reasons to go twittering…
