I’m not sure about anything, but as long as people still refer to me as a god I’m happy.

Re: Back to the house topic, but steering toward a new discussion

I was originally going to post this on the first thread, but then I noticed this one. It seems like the topic’s been beat to death a little, but as the poster of the DJ Dan mixes, I figured I should respond, so here goes:

Woah. I had no idea that posting a mix or two with a 4/4 bass kick would elicit such a strong response. I know that this sight isn’t really a house-type sight, but I didn’t realize that it was so selective. I tried to label it appropriately — there’s a “house” label on there that should scare any broken-beat-snobs away. Moreover, there’s already some DJ Dan on here, so I figured I’d be doing a service to the community by upping the number of mixes by an artist who was already on here. DJ Dan tends toward the funky side of house, and I know people on here like their funk. Besides, I had just raided your stores of mixes, and felt like I should give something back. (It’s probably worth noting here that it counts as a download if you click the link regardless of whether or not you download anything, so my ratio isn’t that bad).

I’ll try to steer away from posting anything under the solid-beat category unless the two DJ Dan mixes get rated well. Next time I’ll upload something more up your ally. Don’t worry, I’m not going to flood pearson towers with rave music…

Given the amount of downloaders that don’t actually vote I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Re: Back to the house topic, but steering toward a new discussion

this sounds really silly to me. i listen to all kinds of mixes, provided they are good ones! perhaps i haven’t spent enough time on sites similar to this (i source my mixes from many different places) but I’m not familiar with the problem of seeing too many house mixes. I actually have a hard time finding really top-notch house mixes… these days it’s all hipster / blog / mashup dance stuff or trance masquerading as electro or techno (which it is not and will never be).

quite a tricky and sensitive subject
i personally dont mind if its a sing a long chorus led garage or house song as long as its well tagged then i can steer well clear of it ……… the thing i dont like is when a decent mix gets uploaded and then a shit load of useless stuff gets uploaded above it and people dont get the opportunity to see it say a day after

what i do dislike is standard gatecrasher and housey house mixes
plus all this dubstep music WTF

prefer to stick pins in my eyes ………..

plus half the folk just rape and then disappear with their mixes giving no thanks or comments or votes

that me off my soapbox

FuckButtons are as good as holyfuck

Re: Back to the house topic, but steering toward a new discussion

Might as well put my 2 cents in as well…. I don’t mind some house but this is not the place i go to find it…this is where I come to find beats, bass and quality tunes…eg Dunfyboy HC mix.
Much respect to all the regular uploaders Jon,Bronte,tryaniswell,geepeetee33,Dunfyboy and many more.
Jon….thanks for the site;regardless of content differences I think you have a winner.

I will keep rating and commenting as much as possible until useless DJ mates downunder start recording more mixes for me to upload.
